Divya began dancing as a part-time student of Kalakshetra. She further deepened her practice of the art under her teacher and acclaimed dancer-choreographer Sri Sheejith Krishna. Under his guidance, she taught at his Sahrdaya Foundation and performed extensively as a solo and repertory performer. Her works are lauded for their aesthetic simplicity and musicality, and her devotion to the art reinforces her commitment and passion for teaching and choreography. She teaches at Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Samskriti in Coimbatore.
She is a devoted disciple of the art form, and her studious adherence to neat technique and a natural flair for facial expressions have won her many praises and plaudits. See her perform live on Saturday, April 29th, 2023 at Cox Theatre, Plano TX
EMERGE - A CHOREOGRAPHIC LAB
WORKSHOP
Emerge is a creative space for classical dancers to inquire, explore and share creative dance practice and process. Led by Bharatanatyam dancer-musician Divya Nayar, Emerge is a 3-day dance experience that culminates in an ensemble performance of the composition explored.

Does inspiration take its route from the inside out or the other way? How does one write about the experience of ceasing to exist when inspiration strikes you out of your senses? Come explore with me to see if we get lost, or found!
Eligibility
Open to dancers with a minimum of 10 years of practice and performance. Professional dancers from all genres are welcome.
Limited seating. Process-driven workshop.
Attendance of all sessions is mandatory to participate in culminating performance.
